Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Will Get Cute Stuffed Animals

If you plan to play Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and also love those fluffy plushies you’re in for a treat, at least if you plan to take advantage of the game’s extensive housing feature.

Community Manager Robert Peeler explained that stuffed toys are going to be implemented as house decorations:

We’re planning on implementing stuffed animals and soft toys for housing decorations. The designs haven’t been finalized just yet, but we want to make them pretty cute…

In other (and less fluffy) news he also specified that those that will purchase the new collector’s edition and apply the codes for the in-game bonuses to their accounts will receive the items on all their characters directly via in-game Moogle delivery system. This deviates from the obsolete (and inconvenient) system in the first incarnation of the game, that gave bonus items only to newly created characters.

Finally he clarified that if two characters will have exactly the same first name and last name on the same server after the transfer to the A Realm Reborn worlds, the system will automatically determine who originally had the name according to “certain priorities” that will be disclosed in a future post on the Lodestone.

Disclaimer: the stuffed moogle in the picture above is obviously a real-life toy (held by voice actress Rie Tanaka, that will lend her vocal cords to Kan-E-Senna and Garuda), and doesn’t represent the virtual ones that will be available in the game, even if it’s pretty safe to assume that there’ll be a moogle plushie available in-game sooner or later. Rie Tanaka herself is will not be available in the game, unless you’ll happen to meet her, since she’s a veteran FFXIV player.
