If you love Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and you like to be always ahead of the visual curve, you now have a reason to celebrate, as Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida shared in an interview with the Japanese site IT Media News that support for 4K Ultra HD Resolution will be added to the game.

Yoshida-san stated that the release of the game is not the goal, but just a transitional point in the building-up process that will see the game build up with its users. This includes it being available on all kinds of environments, including Direct X 11 computers, smartphone companion apps and indeed 4K  TVs.

During the launch event of the game there actually was a demo station (portrayed below) showing the game in 4K resolution (equivalent to a mind boggling 3840 × 2160 pixels), but if you plan to take advantage of the feature you may want to plan ahead, because you won't just need a TV or monitor supporting it, but also an extremely beefy PC. As you can see in the picture below, the rig that was running the demo at the event had a 3-way SLI setup with high end Geforce GTX video cards.  So yeah, that kind of visual quality won't be cheap.
