Final Fantasy XIV Open Beta Delayed

Square Enix may be producing way more tears, rage, and insanity than they expect today. Upon logging into e-mail systems, Final Fantasy XIV Open Beta participant hopefuls will be met with a guide letting them know it’s time to log in, get their code, and download the installer. But there’s a slight problem, when you hit the page you learn that the Open Beta test has been delayed. At 2:00 (GMT) tomorrow the beta will not be open, instead a new date will have to be announced, hopefully soon.

Check out the official statement below. For some reason it seems you can still download the installer at the time of this post, which may or may not be of any help since you won’t have a code yet.

FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test Postponed

FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test, which is scheduled to begin at 02:00 (GMT) on Sept. 1, 2010, will be postponed due to a confirmation of critical bugs. New schedule will be released at a later date.

Along with the postponement of FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test, the issuing of registration code for FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test will be postponed as well. With the download of client software’s installer, it will be suspended at 02:00 (GMT) on Sept. 1, 2010.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
