Final Fantasy XIV’s Expansion’s Cinematic Opening Video Is the Most Epic Thing You’ll Watch Today

During the latest Letter from the Producer Live broadcast, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm  Reborn Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida introduced the opening cutscene of  the expansion  Heavensward, that will be released on June 23rd for PS4, PS3 and PC.

The new video is absolutely epic, and functions as a bridge between the ending of the storyline of the 2.X series and the new story focused on Ishgard that will be introduced in Heavesnsward.

Due to that, it includes relevant spoilers on the latest chapters of the storyline, so if you haven’t played it yet, you may want to hold off on watching the video below.

On top of the new cinematic, Square Enix also revealed “Flames of Truth,” a video showcasing the opening cutscene of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn integrated with what is revealed at the end of the Coil of Bahamut raid series. Of course this one includes spoilers as well.

If you have played the relevant parts of the game or you don’t mind spoilers, enjoy. As all of Square Enix’s cinematics, they’re breathtaking (and if you’re a Final Fantasy XIV veteran Flames of Truth will very possibly make you cry).
