Final Fantasy XR Ride Gets Thrilling New Trailer; Coming to Universal Studios Japan in January

Universal Studios Japan is taking park visitors into the world of Final Fantasy with the upcoming Final Fantasy XR Ride early next year.

Final Fantasy is no stranger to elaborate real-world experiences outside of the beloved games series, and early next year, Universal Studios Japan will be introducing a brand new ride experience that is sure to please all Final Fantasy fans.

Universal Studios Japan unveiled a new trailer for the park’s upcoming Final Fantasy XR Ride, which will bring park visitors into an immersive virtual reality roller coaster experience that is inspired by the sights and characters of Final Fantasy.

The XR Ride will be introduced to Universal Studios Japan starting on January 19th, and will be at the park until June 24th, 2018. The Final Fantasy attraction will be a part of Universal Studios Japan’s annual “Cool Japan” limited time event that incorporates new attractions based on Japanese pop culture, with this year’s slate of rides to include attractions based on Sailor MoonEvangelion, and Monster Hunter in addition to Final Fantasy.

While the new trailer is a brief 15 seconds, it gives a good indication that the ride is sure to appeal to fans of the beloved RPG series, with the trailer including a brief clash between Final Fantasy VII‘s Cloud and Sephiroth, a run through fields with a herd of chocobos, and more.
