Today Square Enix released a brand new trailer and a sizable batch of screenshots of the upcoming DLC live event for Final Fantasy XV "Moogle Chocobo Carnival."

The event will start between January 23rd and January 24th for those who downloaded one of the two DLC available for the game. To be more precise, it will open in the morning of January 24th for Europe and Asia, while North America will get it at 5 PM PST on January 23rd.

Funnily, the Square Enix Cafe recently opened in Akihabara, Tokyo, has been recreated in game, including the manager Takahashi-san and some of the dishes. On top of that, the city of Altissia will be decorated and populated with minigames limited to the event.

Incidentally, if you're curious about the cafe, you can check it out in our recent report from the grand opening event, with plenty of pictures of the cafe itself and its inaugural dishes.

You can also read the full content of the patch that will be released to activate the event below:

For those who own the Holiday Pack + (Season Pass Exclusive)

  • Added costume Festive Ensemble.

For those who own the Holiday Pack (Free Version)

For everyone: implementation of the “selfie-shooting feature." Outside of battle, players will be allowed to take pictures freely.

If you haven’t downloaded the DLCs yet (since the Holiday Pack is free, you have no reason not to get at least that one), you can grab the North American PS4 version here, the European PS4 version here, and the Xbox One version here, depending on what platform and region are appropriate for your game.

Recently, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XV shipped six million copies worldwide since its launch on November 29th, while the NPD announced that it was the second best selling game in the United States in December, and the first on PS4.

If you’re one of the few people unfamiliar with the game  you can read our full review to know how we feel about the game. Incidentally, Final Fantasy XV also won our two Game of the Year awards, picked both by our readers via popular vote and by the DualShockers staff.
