Today Square Enix Europe sent in a press release (via distributor Koch Media) detailing the conditions for acquiring and retaining the Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae demo, available with the first print copies of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for PS4 and Xbox One.

If you want to demo, and especially if you plan to keep it, there are a few caveats you have to keep in mind.

  • The code will be available only in the first print of the physical launch edition of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, and with the digital edition "for a limited time."
  • The code will be valid until March 20th, 2016, exactly one year after the release of the European edition of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. Presumably the North American codes will be valid until March 17th, 2016, even if we have no confirmation of this.
  • The demo is yours until you decide to delete it from your console.
  • The press release explicitly specifies that Square Enix will not request the demo to be removed from your hard disk.

So, there you have it. If you want to play Episode Duscae to your heart content, you'll have to make sure to redeem the code within one year, and not to delete it from your hard disk. This should put some worries to rest about the possibility of it being playable only for a limited time.
