Final Fantasy XV Looks and Sounds Fantastic on PS4/Xbox One in First 30 Minutes in Japanese (UPDATED)

on August 28, 2016 4:21 AM

Today Square Enix released the first half an hour of Final Fantasy XV in Japanese, giving one more glimpse on how the game looks and play, and on the original language that will be available in the west as well.

Personally, I’ll definitely play the game in Japanese, as the voice acting is absolutely fantastic. That said, the English voices are definitely above the usual JRPG quality, as you can see here.

Quite interestingly, the two versions of the video play differently. For instance, When Iris tells Noctis that their little outing almost feels like a date, Noctis gives two distinct answers, causing Iris to be annoyed in the English version, and amused in the Japanese one. What triggers this change? At the moment we don’t know, but it’s certainly interesting.

But without further ado, you can check out the video below.

Update: on second inspection, the video doesn’t just show the PS4 version, but both the PS4 and Xbox One versions. The headline had been updated to reflect this.
