Final Fantasy XV: New Catoblepas Art Released; Artist Explains Why it’s Massive but Believable

Square Enix released today a new piece of concept art featuring the massive Catoblepas, that appears in the Duscae region of Final Fantasy XV, and can be challenged in the Episode Duscae demo.

We also get some a comment from Art Designer Chihiro Hashi, who believes that the power behind the concept design makes it believable, even if the sheer size and “creepy” factor of the monster make it quite a stretch for our imagination.

I don’t know exactly what makes the Catoblepas believable, but they definitely look rather realistic for what I’m concerned. That said, I managed to kill one in Episode Duscae (it took a long, long time), and what can be killed feels more real, doesn’t it?
