Final Fantasy XV PS4 Pre-Load Now Available in North America: It’s Happening! [UPDATED]

on November 27, 2016 1:01 AM

Earlier today, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Square Enix made the pre-load of Final Fantasy XV available in Japan. Now the floodgates have been opened for North America as well.

Interestingly the download size is identical to the one for Japan, with 50.698 gigabytes for the full download and 6.593 gigabytes to launch the game. Of course, since it won’t unlock until the 29th, you should have plenty of time to get the whole thing on your hard disk drive before the game actually becomes playable.

It remains to be seen whether we’ll need to download a further patch to get the full effects of the Crown Update or not.

Final Fantasy XV was announced at E3 2006 as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, only to be re-revealed at E3 2013 with the new numbering and platforms, after a long period of silence.

Now, ten years after the beginning of this rollercoaster ride, the game is finally downloading on our consoles. It almost doesn’t feel real, but it’s finally happening!

Update: pre-loads are now available in Europe as well.
