Square Enix launched to most recent update for Final Fantasy XV, which brings the version from of the game from 1.18 to 1.20.

As with the past updates, version 1.19 and 1.20 adds many new features to the ever expanding RPG. Most importantly, 1.19 adds gives the ability to swap characters during the main story of the game. This means that players will be able to play as  Ignis, Gladio, and Prompto in battle and in the field throughout the game.

Additional features in this version include: added music from the Comrades and Episode Ignis soundtrack, and overall compatibility with Episode Ignis DLC. While version 1.20 just lists bug fixes in the update notes. We've also confirmed that they update is available now.

The character swapping feature is one that players have been wondering about since the game launched. Typically the entire game would be played through as Noctis, but since the game's late 2016 launch, Square Enix has been releasing updates and gameplay improvements to support the game.

In case you missed it, Episode Ignus recently received a new trailer showing includes Overclock, High Jump, and Quick Recipeh.

Final Fantasy XV is currently available for PS4 and Xbox One, and will launch for PC in early 2018. If you want to read more, you should not forget to read our recent interview with Director Hajime Tabata.
