Originally revealed in 2020, Final Fantasy XVI is a PS5-exclusive experience that doesn’t have a release window yet, but fans were anticipating one more showcase from the game later this year, which never came.
Now, the producer behind the game apologies to fans for not delivering any new trailer from the game, and promises a big showcase in Spring 2022!
Final Fantasy XVI Next Showcase Is in Spring 2022
“When we last spoke, I promised I would have more information on Final Fantasy XVI sometime later in 2021,” said Naoki Yoshida, the producer behind the project.
“However I regret to inform you that I will be unable to keep that promise as complications stemming from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic have delayed the game’s development by almost half a year,” Yoshida continued.
According to Yoshida, it has been quite difficult for them to adapt to the remote-working situation as it forced them to encounter many communications problems with other studios around the world to process the development of Final Fantasy XVI smoothly.
However, Yoshida promises that they will focus more on gameplay elements and mechanics in 2022, trying to wipe out all the issues and polishing the game, which will make it ready for a showcase in Spring 2022.
“I’m happy to announce the current plan is to conduct our next big reveal in Spring 2022 as we seek to build excitement leading up to the game’s eventual release,” Yoshida reveals.
So, this means we are going to hopefully see a lengthy gameplay trailer from Final Fantasy XVI in Spring next year, and maybe we can hope to get our hands on it later in 2022.
