Final Fantasy XV’s Release Window Confirmed for 2016, More Info Coming at Major Event in March

During the Active Time Report event broadcasted from PAX Prime in Seattle, Final Fantasy XV Game Director Hajime Tabata confirmed that the release window for of his upcoming labor of love will be in 2016.

Tabata-san felt the need to confirm the release window clearly, as the wording he used at Gamescom was open to interpretation, even if he was actually scolded when he returned to Tokyo.

According to Tabata-san, a major event will be held in March 2016, and the release date timing will be announced then. This is mostly because Square Enix needs to make sure all the assets are ready and in place, and that kind of timing matches a March time frame.

Of course we won’t need to wait until March to see more, as there’s going to be another Final Fantasy XV event at Tokyo Game Show, and a further one this winter.
