Fire Emblem: Awakening Has a Permadeath Option

February 15, 2012

Are you one of those people who lets their party members die and thinks, “Oh I’ll just heal them/let them automatically revive after the battle is over.” Well then you better get yourself an attitude adjustment for Fire Emblem: Awakening, because your characters could die and stay that way.

The latest title in the Fire Emblem franchise has a permadeath option. Playing the game in Classic Mode will result in fallen characters being lost to you for the remainder of their gameplay. Casual Mode, on the other hand, allows you to revive them automatically after each battle.

Try that on for size, you heartless jerks. If that’s not enough for you, players can play the game on one of three difficulty levels: Normal, Hard, and Lunatic.

To the gamers out there that will pair up Lunatic difficulty and Classic Mode, because they’re just that kind of person: I wish you the best.
