There is quite a lot of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia news floating around today -- only earlier Nintendo showcased the Limited Edition bundle for fans of the series.

However, a trailer posted by Nintendo highlights brand new gameplay footage, offering the largest peek of the game since its Nintendo Direct reveal in January.

After giving a brief summary of the story and showing off some of the in-game cinematics, the video offers up some small tidbits about gameplay. For one, they mention "paired units have no place in Valentia" -- a feature that will likely delight fans who thought the pairing mechanic made the game too easy in both Fire Emblem Fates and Fire Emblem Awakening.

Also, the game is reworking how archers react. Unlike the original -- and many other games in the Fire Emblem series -- archers are seen in the video attacking adjacent spaces and counterattacking against close combat.

Players will be able to summon heroes using Fire Emblem amiibo from different series -- in other words, expect to break out your Marth, Ike, Roy, Robin, Lucina, and Corrin amiibo.

Besides these new features, the game offers a lot of what many would expect: Casual and Classic mode, a weakness system, and new magic abilities.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia launches exclusively on May 19, 2017. Check out the new trailer below:
