All the hype surrounding the Nintendo 3DS exclusive Fire Emblem Fates titles appears to have paid off, as the games have earned the best debut sales wise the series has seen.

Nintendo announced today that in the first three days they were on sale, Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright and Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest - across all versions - sold over 300,000 units. With numerous package deals available, a themed console launching simultaneously and by far the most coveted limited edition set of the year so far, this success is unsurprising. Interestingly, Birthright leads over Conquest in total sales by a margin however slim, interesting since I thought Conquest's cover characters had way more swag.

Nintendo added:

“Both fans and critics are falling for Fire Emblem Fates, and the early sales numbers prove the game’s undeniable appeal. This strong momentum for Nintendo 3DS is only the beginning, as many more high-quality exclusive games are set to launch for the hand-held system over the next few months.”

Fire Emblem Fates is available now and the Dualshockers review is forthcoming.
