Every month, a Maximus Cup is held in Tetris 99 that can net players special rewards depending on how well they perform. This has allowed the game to cross over with Splatoon 2 in the past, and today we learned that the next Maximus Cup, or Grand Prix in Europe, will be crossing over with another Nintendo Switch exclusive game game - Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

Like the past crossover Tetris 99 Maximus Cups, this Fire Emblem: Three Houses themed one changes the background to one featuring Edelgard, Dmitri, and Claude while the classic Tetris theme is replaced by a song from Three Houses. If players are able to obtain 100 points by doing well in matches this weekend, they will be able to keep this theme perfectly. It's great to still Arika and Nintendo support Tetris 99 several months after launch, and support probably won't die down soon as the game is getting a physical release next month and a healthy amount of offline modes are still on their way.

We also know that The Tetris Company is interested in this concept too as they are already creating another battle royale Tetris game for iOS and Android. If you want to know more about both games involved, you can check out DualShockers' reviews of Tetris 99 and Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The crossover has already begun and will be available until 11:59pm PT on August 26.
