First Five-Plus Minutes of Fez, Might Be My Most Anticipated Game of the Year

March 18, 2011

Indie dev Polytron is finally ready to release their indie opus Fez, and judging from the first five or so minutes of gameplay shown at PAX East, it’s very likely going to be greatest platformer of 2011. The revolutionary shift between dimensions is truly mind-blowing; even though I’m the foremost advocate of this game, my head will probably explode at how ridiculous the dimension shifting is going to be in relation to the actual platforming.

Probably my greatest obstacle is the fact that I don’t have an XBox 360, but if past indie games are any indication, I desperately hope this will be on Steam shortly thereafter. Hit the jump for the first minutes of gameplay, and prepare to have your mind blown.

Fez comes out sometime this year on the XBLA; I hope it comes out sooner than later.

His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
