With all the hype and excitement about Persona: Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena building, this Arc System Works developed fighter has managed to stay under my radar. Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan – Great War of a Hundred Gathering Demons is an insanely colorful and stylish fighting game being published in Japan by Konami. It is, unsurprisingly, based on a manga.

In addition to its artful graphics, the game will feature 3-on-3 team battling in large stages. All of the uniquely designed characters have attacks that eclipse most of if not the entire stage. Although its furious brawling might bring to mind the Super Smash Bros. series, a solid combo system looks to be in place.

This game seems absurdly Japanese focused, to the point that an American release almost appears unlikely, but it isn’t impossible. With names like Konami and Arc System Works on the box, a global release wouldn’t be surprising. Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan will be available on both HD consoles in Japan on November 17th in Japan.  Hit the break for the newly released first trailer.
