For Those That’ve Been Craving Some New Old-School Mega Man Action: Rokko Chan

on December 29, 2011 10:00 AM

I know there’s a couple of you Blue Bomber junkies out there that are in massive Mega Man withdrawal, what with Capcom completely abusing the franchise and not really doing much to keep it going. Well, it may not be Mega Man, but Japanese developers King Soukutu have tried to quell you guys’ thirst with Rokko Chan, a Flash-based send-off to the old Mega Mans of yore.

I’ll give them all the credit in the world; even if the main character is a female Blue Bomberette, the game looks, feels, and plays exactly like an old school Mega Man,¬†and that includes the ridiculously difficult platforming and bosses. Hell, even the music is pretty freakin fantastic. Props definitely go to King Soukutu for producing something that feels just like it was fresh out of Capcom’s oven; in fact, I’d go so far as to say that Rokko Chan¬†actually plays better than a couple of Capcom’s classic iterations.

Don’t take my word for it though; play it here and be entertained and/or frustrated.
