Two former CD Projekt Red developers have formed a new studio called Different Tales. Artur Ganszyniec, a former Head Story Designer on The Witcher, and Jacek Brzeziński, a former Project Lead who worked on The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and Dying Light, will be releasing Wanderlust: Travel Stories this August.

Ganszyniec and Brzeziński describe Different Tales as a game studio that wants to create narrative games that explore human experiences that can be played at your own pace. Wanderlust: Travel Stories has players controlling five characters as they explore six continents and 21 countries. Over the course of its 12+ hour story, players will get to define their characters and their perspective of the world.

With each choice the player makes, it'll affect the character's mood throughout the game. Even aspects of real-life such as managing a travel budget can influence the character's attitude. Overall, maintaining each character's mental and physical health is vital to completing the story. Brzeziński mentions that the game is meant to be a relaxing experience despite all the stress of traveling. Additionally, he says that each character's story ends with them "becoming an internally 'richer' person."

"Ten years after I met with Jacek during our work on The Witcher, we decided to team up again to make a different kind of story, something more grounded in reality and rooted in the common human experience," said Ganszyniec. "Wanderlust was born from Jacek's love for travel and from my love of storytelling," he continued. "We aimed to create something different. A bridge between literary experiences and gaming. A title that is meant to be taken in, experienced and felt."
