RedSix Interactive Entertainment is formed by three industry veterans, James Ackroyd, Jonathan Venables and Mike Rouse.

Mike Rouse and Jonathan Venables were working together as directors at Microsoft's London incubator Lift. On the other hand, James Ackroyd worked as a software director at Rare. The three got together and decided to form a new team, focusing on mobile and tablets for now.

Their first title, Coin Op Heroes 2, is already in development, alongside another unnamed game.

Rouse expressed his excitement to work with his teammates, and how they will bring the "highest quality gaming experiences."

"After many years in the games industry, working alongside some of the most inspiring figures in the field, we are excited to set out on this new journey, RedSix will create and bring to market the highest quality gaming experiences, focused on new IPs, across tablet, mobile and future gaming platforms."

Venables talked about their upcoming games, and the studio's aim of making them immersive and interactive.

"At RedSix we will create games that are full of characters living in worlds you can immerse yourself in, we are currently developing two very different games: the first is 2D, the second is 3D. Whilst very different, they both have a recognizable and distinctive style. With this approach we will bring character led personality to all of our games."

Finally, Ackroyd invited new and rising talents to join the team, in order to help them grow and overcome any challenges.

"Our first goal is to attract talent and grow the team to share this journey with. We are looking forward to working with both old friends and new talent."
