Former Nintendo Indie Game Boss Partners with Discord Games on Chasm

Dan Adelman and Discord Games have announced today their partnership for the upcoming 2D platform adventure game Chasm.

Adelman, who left Nintendo of America this past August after spending nine years working with independent developers through the company, will be helping Discord Games develop business strategies in different aspects that range from marketing to seeking out new business opportunities. The news of Adelman’s partnership comes just over two months after  he revealed he was working with Tom Happ on the game Axiom Verge, making it likely that we will be seeing more partnerships formed between himself and indie developers throughout the coming year.

“I am very excited to be working with Discord Games on Chasm,” said Dan Adelman in an official statement. “While checking out the alpha, I was immediately drawn in by the beautiful art style, varied level design and procedurally generated world maps. No two people will play the game in the same way. The whole package jumped out at me as a game I really wanted to be part of.”

Chasm is a procedurally-generated game that mixes the best elements of hack’n’slash dungeon crawlers with Metroidvania-style platforming. It is currently in development for PS4 and PC, with additional platforms under consideration, and set for release sometime in the second half of 2015.
