Former The Last Guardian Developers Create New Indie Studio, Friend & Foe Games; Two New Projects In Progress
With indie games growing in prominence and in popularity, the rising number of new indie game studios and development companies is certainly a boost for the thriving industry, and the latest new studio to be opening shop comes with a number of experience game development vets behind it.
Consisting of developers, artists, illustrators, and creatives from a number of titles like The Last Guardian, Killzone, Battlefield 3, and many others, the new indie studio Friend & Foe Games has announced its opening, with the new company based in Tokyo, Japan and already well under work. Made up of five team members that handle all aspects of the business, from illustration and art creation, to development and coding, to accounting and the business end, the studio’s experience on studio games from big publishers provides them with plenty of opportunity for “extremely nimble game development,” with Friend & Foe also aiming to self-fund and self-publish its titles as they see release.
Currently, the new studio has two projects in development and on the way, with both Dangerous Men, “an action arcade game based on ’80’s buddy cop movies, and Vane, an open world adventure game, both in progress at the new studio.
