Former Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us Lead Character Artist Moves to Avalanche Studios

A few months ago former Naughty Dog Lead Character Artist Michael Knowland left the prominent Sony first party studio. Later we learned that after leading the character creation effort for The Last of Us he was working on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (on Nathan Drake’s character) and on a yet unannounced AAA game.

At last, thanks to Knowland’s updated Linkedin profile we learn that he found a new place where to apply his considerable talent, and that’s the Stockholm-based developer Avalanche Studios, with the role of Senior Character Artist. Apparently he was hired this month.

Avalanche Studios is currently working on Mad Max for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, scheduled for a release in 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Considering the nature of Mad Max’s character, we might even get to see a bit of Nathan Drake and Joel in him.
