As downtime for the release of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2: Resistance comes to an end, we've got our very first look at the brand new map that will be arriving in the big update.

Fortnite's latest season is titled 'Resistance' and sees a focus on all-out war as the IO and Seven battle it out to take control of the island. But, with so much destruction occurring on the infamous Battle Royale map, there's sure to be plenty of changes inbound.

First Look At Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2: Resistance Map

If you haven't had the chance to jump into the new Fortnite Season just yet, you're probably eager to know what the island is going to look like the next time you depart from the Battle Bus. Well, thanks to Twitter leaker HappyPower, we've got our very first look.

There doesn't appear to be any drastic changes on the map, as seen in the image below, but it's certainly clear there's an ongoing war on the island.

Another new feature included in Chapter 3 Season 2 is the 'war overlay', which showcases what factions are in charge of which areas. First spotted by Fortnite leaker FortTory, it appears that the war overlay will progress as the season goes on, as the battle continues and island control changes hands.

As seen in the images below, a large portion of the island is in red, which is likely the colour of the IO. The blue outlines across the map are expected to be sections controlled by the resistance, which will be led by The Seven.
