Fortnite is undergoing one of its biggest transitions to date, with Chapter 2 ending in style and Chapter 3 beginning.

Following a massive live event, something which Epic Games knows how to nail, it's safe to say that players are excited to see what's up next.

With the previous map plunged into the ocean, weird things began to happen, one of which was Fortnite Flipped or #FortniteFlipped trending on Twitter, but what exactly does it mean?

What Does Fortnite Flipped Mean on Twitter?

Fortnite flipped is a brand new trend that will allow players to uncover the game's brand new map that is all set for Chapter 3's first big season.

It's a great marketing tool by Epic, which when the hashtag #FortniteFlipped is tweeted, will flip players Twitter Icons around.

In doing so, players will be recommended to visit fliptheisland.com. The premise of it all is simple - the more players that tweet the hashtag, the more of the new map Epic Games will reveal.

The first part of the island, a snowy area in the northwest has already been revealed and it's likely the rest will follow very soon. Especially as it's being advertised in Times Square in New York, alongside a tease for the game's latest crossover with the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.

The Avenger was teased as part of the live event with a Spider-Man backpack seen floating through the ocean after the previous map was destroyed.

What an exciting time to be a Fortnite fan.
