Gold bars are one of the most important items you need in Fortnite for survival but several players are reporting that the gold bars have disappeared from their accounts.
Gold bars are a type of currency in Epic Game's popular battle royale game Fortnite. Players can use the gold to buy weapons, upgrade them and get services from allies.
Now the gold bars aren't that easy to obtain. It takes time to gather gold by completing bounties, eliminating other players, or by scouring the land for loot.
So it is not hard to imagine why players are upset to see all of their gold bars reset to zero overnight.

Fortnite Gold Bars Reset Caused By A Glitch
Typically, players retain the gold bars they collect in a match despite the outcome of the battle. It can be used as a currency at any point in the season.
However, several frustrated players have been reporting that the gold bars have disappeared from their Fortnite accounts. Many of them took to social media to report the matter to Epic Games.
The gold bar reset problem appears to persist in Fortnite at the time of writing this article. And it seems there is no workaround to fix this problem at the moment.
Fortnite Is Investing The Issue
This matter did not go unnoticed by Fortnite. The team has announced that it is currently investigating the issue where a game starts with zero bars and the bars collected in a match are not being retained in the next one.
Fortnite has confirmed that it will provide an update as soon it resolves the matter.
So for now, there isn't much we can do apart from waiting for Epic Games to deliver a fix for this issue.
Update (July 12, 2021): The gold bar glitch which occurred last week has once again cropped up in the game. Fortnite has tweeted that it is looking into the matter right now. We shall update this post whenever a fix arrives.
In the latest tweet, Fortnite has confirmed that the gold bar issue has been fixed. Players' Bar counts have returned to their previous amounts, and Gold Bars collected in a match will carry over to the next.
