Fortnite's Newest Item Addition is a Grappling Hook, Majorly Changing Verticality

Epic Games have showcased Fortnite's next item at PAX West, which is the gravity-defying Grappler, allowing players to propel themselves short distances

During the PAX West stream, Epic Games has revealed the Fortnite Grappler, a new item that lets you meticulously zip across the map with apparent ease. The new item AKA The Grappler will bring more thrills to Epic’s battle royale than maybe anything we’ve seen before.

Like Fortnite‘s other items, the jetpack and bounce pads, the Grappler will allow you to move quickly across the map and try to get a head start on your enemy as you glide and swing, Batman style. Your accuracy needs to be on point though since you have to aim in the direction you want to go. Missing your spot could lead to tricky situations!

Fortnite grappling hook release date hasn’t been officially announced as yet, but it may be soon if it drops with the Fortnite 5.40 update, which means you could get a go with it as soon as September 4.

This news comes into light after Epic announced that solid gold and solid gold 50v50 had been added, plus a DLC Ace Pack, which grants you 600 V-Bucks, a new outfit, and backpack.

Fortnite is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch, as well as iOS and Android devices. Check out for yourself at the first look of the new Grappler below:
