To coincide with today's launch of Fortnite entering early access, a new trailer for the game was also released today. This trailer highlights the gameplay elements from Fortnite specifically and showcases some of the combat and building mechanics that the game boasts.

If you're unfamiliar with Fortnite, it is a co-op sandbox survival game developed by Epic Games and People Can Fly. Fortnite was first revealed by Cliff Bleszinski -- who still worked at Epic at the time -- back in 2011 at the Spike Video Game Awards before later going quiet for an extended period of time. After re-emerging, it was announced that the final release of Fortnite would follow the free-to-play business model. Earlier this year, we learned that the game would be made available to players in early access on July 25 before fully launching at some time in 2018.

We were able to check out Fortnite earlier this summer at E3 2017 where we came away impressed with the game's building mechanics in addition to the unique character classes that it offered. If you're interested in picking up Fortnite now that it is in early access, be sure to check out our full preview from the show to help you determine whether or not it is worth the investment.

If you want to watch today's new trailer for yourself, you can find it at the bottom of the page. Fortnite is available now in early access on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac.
