Epic Games has revealed that a brand new Fortnite update will be deployed today (August 24) for all platforms.

The new update comes as a surprise to many as it was only just last week that v17.40 was released for all platforms. The previous update included the brand new Pulse Rifle, a new 'Impostors' Mode, some map changes, and plenty of bug fixes.

Unfortunately though, today's update doesn't appear to be as lucrative. Check out the official patch notes right here in this article for the full details.

Fortnite August 24 Update & Patch Notes

The official Fortnite Status Twitter account has informed players that today's (August 24) update is simply to address stability issues. The patch notes from the developers can be found below:

"We are deploying a maintenance patch on all platforms to address stability issues. You will be prompted to download the patch before launching your game. There will not be server downtime."

So, it looks like there's no new content in this surprise update. Players won't notice any changes following the update, but it will hopefully fix some stability issues across all platforms.

The latest Fortnite update is available to download now on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia.

When Is The Next Fortnite Update?

With today's update being a simple maintenance patch, when can fans actually expect some new content to arrive in Fortnite?

Well, we're drawing closer and closer to the end of Chapter 2: Season 7, which means a final update is likely on the horizon.

An official release date for v17.50 hasn't been announced just yet, but data-miners believe that it's set to arrive on August 31st. As for what will be included in the update, we'll have to wait and see.

A live event has been rumored to finish off the season, with it possibly involving the Mothership. But this is all simply speculation for now. As soon as v17.50 is announced you'll find all the details right here at DualShockers.
