Epic Games' Fortnite, in case you haven't heard, is the game that is currently dominating the globe with tens of millions of players on consoles, PC, and mobile, and now the ever-popular shooter is making its way to Nintendo Switch owners...right now.

During the latest Nintendo Direct for E3 2018, the company officially announced that Fortnite will be heading to the Nintendo Switch from Epic Games, marking the latest edition of the massively popular shooter.

The announcement itself shouldn't come as too much of a surprise given that it's been hinted at in numerous ways leading up to the actual reveal, but with today's announcement, fans can expect to drop, build, and outlast their opponents to claim their Victory Royale.

However, even better is the fact that the game is now available to play for free on the Nintendo eShop, and will be available to play on the system today at 10am PT/1pm ET.

Fortnite is available now on Nintendo Switch, and you can also currently play the game on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and iOS, while a forthcoming Android version is expected this summer. For a closer look at the game's Nintendo Switch release, you can check out the debut trailer below.
