As part of a brand new hotfix update to Fortnite, both the Railgun and Recon Scanner have returned from the vault and are available once again on the island.

Unfortunately, as two weapons return from the vault, two must enter it. The Sideways Rifle and Minigun were the two unfortunate weapons to return to the vault, meaning players will no longer find them scattered around the island.

With Chapter 3 Season 3 now only a few weeks away, you can bet the Railgun and Recon Scanner won't be around for long, as Epic Games are once again expected to be mixing things up with the beginning of a brand new season. So, make the most of the Railgun while you can! Here's where to find the recently unvaulted weapon and the stats for every rarity available.

Where To Find The Railgun In Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2

Similar to many of the other weapons in Fortnite, the spawn rate of the Railgun is completely random. Which sadly means there's no set location to drop in and pick up the gun. However, getting your hands on it shouldn't be too difficult as they will drop from opened chests, supply boxes, and can also be found as ground loot around the island.

Fortnite Railgun Stats Explained

The Railgun comes in three different rarities, these are:

  • Rare (Blue)
  • Epic (Purple)
  • Legendary (Gold)

With each increase in rarity comes increased weapon statistics, all of which can be found below:

  • Rare (Blue)
    • Damage Per Second = 85
    • Damage = 85
    • Fire Rate = 1
    • Magazine Size = 1
    • Reload Time = 3s
    • Structure Damage = 500
  • Epic (Purple)
    • Damage Per Second = 89

All versions of the Railgun use heavy bullets and have a headshot multiplier of 2x. It is also a hitscan weapon, which means the fired bullet will always shoot from the centre of the crosshair, whilst also not incurring any damage falloff.
