Fortnite Returning To iPhones Next Week Via New GeForce NOW Service

Fortnite will soon be available to play on iOS devices!

January 13, 2022

It has been well over a year since Apple removed Fortnite from the iOS App Store and there have been no signs of it returning anytime soon as the Epic v. Apple trial is still ongoing.

However, thanks to a new GeForce NOW service by Nvidia, Fortnite will soon be returning to iPhones with beta registration available now. Although this isn’t necessarily how fans envisioned Fortnite returning to iOS devices, it’s pretty much the next best thing.

Fortnite Returns To iOS Devices Via GeForce NOW

On January 13th Nvidia released a brand new blog post stating that Fortnite will soon be available on GeForce NOW for both iOS and Android devices. An exact date wasn’t given, but the closed beta will be starting “next week”, which we assume means from Monday, January 17th.

Although Fortnite isn’t returning to the iOS App Store for fans to download, GeForce NOW will allow players to stream the game through the Safari web browser. Or if you’re on an Android device, via the GeForce NOW Android App. But we’re not too sure why you’d do that when you can just download it from the Google Play Store.

For those interested in taking part in the closed beta, you’ll need to visit the Nvidia website and register your interest to play Fortnite on GeForce NOW with new touch controls.

Nvidia states that they have been working alongside Epic Games to enable a touch-friendly version of Fortnite for mobile devices through the cloud. Although Nvidia recommends playing PC games via GeForce NOW with a gamepad, the introduction of touch controls aims to offer more ways to play, and it all starts with Fortnite.
