It looks like the biggest game in the world is ready to dip its toe into 2019's competitive gaming circuit. And to top it all off, the Fortnite event will pack quite a hefty cash prize.Epic Games recently announced that its now-flagship title Fortnite is set to see a major esports outing later this year. The event, simply entitled Secret Skirmish, will run for two days featuring a wealth of players from each of the Fortnite Open tournaments that have taken place so far.The invitational event will act as something of a pre-courser for the Fortnite World Cup which is scheduled to take place later this year. To top it all off, Secret Skirmish will include the lofty prize of $500,000.So far, Secret Skirmish is, well, secretive. There hasn't been much information released so far. Just enough to awaken that competitive spirit inside Fortnite's massive player-base.We don't yet know where the event will take place, but we do know that it will run from February 14, 2019 through to February 15, 2019. More details will surely be announced between now and then.Fortnite has taken over the world over the last 18 months and is currently available for free on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android.
