Although v17.40 was only released a few days ago, it appears that Epic Games must have missed a few bugs. Following the release of this week's update, Fortnite's developers deployed yet another update on August 19.

">Fortnite Status Twitter account revealed that a new Fortnite update and patch had been deployed for both PC and Xbox users. So, if you're on PlayStation 4 or 5, you won't have a new patch to download.

But, if you're on Xbox or PC, a new patch is available to download right now. The update doesn't include any server downtime.

According to Epic Games, the following issues were fixed in the latest update:

PC

  • Addressed stability issues for players on Windows 7

Xbox

  • General stability issues fixed

The update is only small, coming in at 391MB for Xbox and 60.8MB for PC.

Unfortunately, that's all there is for the latest Fortnite update. No new content is included and no major changes, just some boring bug fixes.

When Is The Next Fortnite Update?

Although today's update didn't include any major changes, v17.50 will likely be on the way in a few weeks with plenty of new content for players.

Rumors suggest that v17.50 will be the final update for Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 7, before Season 8 officially begins in September.

An official release date for the next update hasn't been revealed, but it's likely to arrive Tuesday, August 31st. Expect plenty of changes to arrive as it's expected to be a big one to finish the current season.
