At Microsoft's press briefing during this year's E3, Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games revealed that the next iteration of its open-world racing game, Forza Horizon 4, would be coming in just a few months. We also got a first look of the game with a new trailer that featured a slew of different vehicles, one of which had never been playable in the game before: motorcycles. Viewing the trailer, it seemed motorcycles may have been a new vehicle type added to the game. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

While speaking to Turn 10 Studios' Design Director Jon Knoles about the possibility of new or returning car brands for Forza Horizon 4, he clarified that motorcycles will not be in the upcoming racing game.

"No, you can't drive motorcycles, just to get that out of the way. It's a showcase event. It's a motocross stunt team you're racing against just like you've raced against jets, planes, boats, and trains," Knoles states as he explains the vehicles actual role in the game. "We know some portion of our audience has wanted to see playable motorcycles. Maybe someday but not this game."

There you have it. If you were looking forward to driving dirt bikes through the mud or zooming through England's streets with a sports bike, you won't be able to this time around. As stated, Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games hear you and maybe, just maybe, we'll see it in a future Forza Horizon title.

While motorcycles won't be in Forza Horizon 4, it will feature dynamic weather and seasons will be, destructible walls and the UK setting.

Forza Horizon 4 will launch for Xbox One on October 2, 2018. It will be available day-and-date on the console's Games Pass subscription service.
