Forza Motorsport 8 Will Have Brand New Game Concepts That Connect Players
These concepts are "all intended to connect players to the Forza universe."
Yesterday we saw Forza Motorsport 8 teased and revealed in a flashy trailer featuring sports vehicles driving around a race track and some very shiny helmet wearing humans wandering around the pits. While specific details weren’t revealed during the reveal trailer, it was said to have been captured entirely in-engine.
In a video uploaded to the Forza YouTube channel, Creative Director at Turn 10 Studios, Chris Esaki discussed the team’s approach to Forza Motorsport 8. He confirms that the trailer shown was announcing that the game is in early development which explains why we didn’t see an estimated release date on the trailer.
He also explains how the Forzatech engine that is used to power the Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon titles is seeing ray-tracing support being added. This seems to be shown off in the trailer with all those flashy lights reflecting off of shiny surfaces.
On the official blog, it’s detailed that Forza Motorsport will offer the players an all-new experience that will be taking full advantage of the Xbox Series X hardware. Players can expect to see ray tracing, native 4K, and while running at 60fps.
Chris talks about connection and players building friendships and communities hinting that there might be a very strong focus on the online play I imagine. It’s also detailed that there will be some brand-new gameplay concepts being introduced that will help with connecting players. Not much else was detailed but we’ll be seeing more revealed at a later date when Turn 10 is ready to share more details.
Forza Motorsport 8 will be heading to Xbox Series X and Windows 10. No release date has been stated as of yet and the game is still in the early development stage so it probably won’t be released for a while.
