The prestigious Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles will temporarily close tomorrow for a period of major renovation, but the hiatus is accompanied by an announcement via press release that might please racing games fans.

After the museum’s re-opening late next year a partnership with Microsoft will bring forth the “Forza Motorsport Experience.”

The Petersen and Xbox are pleased to announce plans to create the Forza Motorsport Experience. Visitors to the 1,500 square-foot simulation room will be able to experience legendary racing circuits from behind the wheel of state-of-the-art Forza Motorsport simulators, or experience the beauty of the automobile up close in ForzaVista™. The experience will open in the museum next year, with plans to create programmatic and event experiences to follow shortly thereafter. To learn more about Forza Motorsport, visit

While details are limited for the moment, it definitely seems like an interesting initiative, and high recognition for the Forza franchise. The Petersen is one of the largest and most appreciated automotive museums in the world.

We’ll keep you posted as soon as more information will be released.
