Turn 10 Studios and Microsoft has been tight-lipped about the current-gen version of the upcoming Forza Motorsport title, but it seems the Xbox One players will also be able to play the game as it supports smart delivery.

Officially revealed during Xbox Games Showcase later in July, Forza Motorsport is the next upcoming entry from the FM series. If you order it in numbers, the new iteration should've been branded as Forza Motorsport 8, but it seems the developer has decided to drop the number.

While the reveal trailer didn't provide much information, it seems the game will be a cross-gen title similar to most of the first-party projects that are set to be released in the early years of the 9th generation. According to a recent Reddit post on the Xbox Series X subreddit, the official Xbox webpage indicates that Forza Motorsport will support Smart Delivery, which means it probably targets more than one console.

Smart Delivery is a brand new feature for cross-gen games that are targetting both Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles. Thanks to this feature, players can purchase cross-gen titles once and play it on both Xbox consoles. All cross-gen Microsoft-exclusive games will be supporting Smart Delivery at launch, including Halo Infinite.

While some believe that the game will arrive on Xbox One as well, others assume that the Smart Deliver badge on Forza refers to its launch on the rumored Xbox Lockhart console. If there's any cheaper next-gen Xbox console in development, we would probably get to know more about it this month as rumors suggest.

Forza Motorsport 7 is the latest launch from Turn 10 Studios that was released in 2017. Rebranding the new entry as Forza Motorsport probably refers to the start of a new era for the series.

The new Forza doesn't have a release date yet.
