Celeste was one of the best games to release last year and in my opinion, one of the greatest platformers of all time. The game combined engaging, difficult, and ridiculously fun level design with an incredible narrative to create something special. So, I am happy to see that the unreleased free DLC is going to come packed with over 100 levels.

Announced via his Twitter, Matt Thorson, the creator of Celeste, stated that Chapter Nine will have over 100 levels included and they have been detailing them for weeks.

He followed up the post with a comment stating how they do not like to put out a release date that they are not 100% sure that they can hit. He mentions a reason for that is because the studio had missed every internal target they had set for themselves when the DLC chapter began to grow in scope. You can read the tweet for yourself below.

I have been eagerly anticipating the release of Chapter Nine for quite some time now. We have gotten some tidbits of information sprinkled out before, but we have never heard anything that substantial. It is reassuring that the wait will probably be worth it.

Celeste is currently available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. I cannot recommend this game enough, but if you are still a bit wary about picking the game up, make sure to check out DualShockers' review of the title right here. I know that the game was available as a free Games With Gold title one month, so, if you were smart enough to take advantage of the free game then, it might be time to finally load the game up before the DLC launches.
