Mech enthusiasts will be delighted to know that the newest entry in From Software’s popular Armored Core series has been revealed. The latest issue of Famitsu magazine reveals Armored Core: Verdict Day, which is slated for a Japanese release on September 26th for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game will include an improved version of the online system found in the previous series entry Armored Core V. Players will have the option of importing data from Armored Core V, although details regarding just why they would do this aren’t clear.

Armored Core: Verdict Day will see a special edition release in Japan, with the set including an art book, a soundtrack compilation and a mecha figurine. The regular edition of the game will cost  6,800 yen, which is the Japanese equivalent of about $73. No details on a North American release for the game were disclosed, but the series’ release history suggests that we’ll see the game on these shores at some point.
