Warhorse has released an introduction video to the new DLC for Kingdom Come: Deliverance called From the Ashes that gives players the responsibility of building a village from the ground up. A video was released last week of the developers discussing the DLC.

From the Ashes finds players as a newly appointed bailiff in charge of the many decisions that go into building a settlement including what buildings to erect and how to settle disputes between villagers. The video emphasizes that this DLC is not a city builder but rather like a finance-management system. Players will give directions as to what should be built, and those buildings will either generate money or cost money. The challenge is to create a balance until the village generates players a steady income.

The DLC enhances gameplay by providing opportunities like the ability to build an alchemy table in the town hall which eliminates the need to search for laboratories elsewhere in the world. Raising stables gives players the chance to buy horses not available anywhere else, and building a guardhouse allows them to train any weapon type.

Of course, if players screw up enough, they can lose the village for good.
