Frontier Gate Trailer Gives Us a Glimpse of Turn-Based Monster Hunting

Frontier Gate is a new PSP game from Star Ocean developer tri-Ace. It was announced a few months back, and it certainly is looking mighty cool. Japan is huge on Monster Hunter-like games, and this one is no exception, at least in the visual department. The difference here is that, while Monster Hunter titles are more action-oriented, this is a turn-based RPG. What up with that? It could be cool, though, at least for me. I don’t place a stigma on turn-based mechanics, as long as they’re done well. It’s just a bit odd that the more action-y tri-Ace would decide to make a turn-based RPG. Can’t wait to check it out in more detail, for sure. Hit the break for the trailer.
