A collaboration between Fox Interactive and mobile games developer TinyCo. has birthed the announcement of a mobile game set in the Futurama universe.

Titled Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow, the game will be created with “completely new stories from the original writers, cast, and animators,” according to series co-creator David X. Cohen, who will be writing content for the new game alongside Matt Groening. The television show’s original animation team, Rough Draft Studios, will also be involved in the animation of the game.

It seems that the focus for the game is to make it feel true to the original television series. Matt Groening commented on how much the game already feels like the original show .

"I love this game because it feels just like Futurama. Except now you get to jab the characters in the face."

At this time, information about the game is slim. There’s no scheduled release date or any details about what gameplay will be like. Those who are interested in pre-registering to play can do so on Google Play.

Futurama began as a television series on Fox in 1999 until it was ended in 2003. Then, in 2008, the series was revived on Comedy Central until 2013, when production stopped with the finale of the series' seventh season.
