Team Empire Surprisingly Wins Rainbow Six Siege Major in Raleigh

In a tale of redemption, Team Empire defeat G2 Esports at the Rainbow Six Siege Major in Raleigh earning the title of 2019 Major Champions.

Since the Six Invitational earlier this year, Team Empire has been chasing G2 Esports since they lost to them back in Montreal. Now, at the Rainbow Six Siege Raleigh Major, we see the two squads meet once again in one of the closest matches we’ve seen during the event. Against all odds, Team Empire defeated G2 Esports becoming this year’s Major Champions.

The first three maps were a back-and-forth affair as both Team Empire and G2 Esports were neck-and-neck throughout the entire competition. The second map had many reminiscing on the Six Invitational match at Coastline as it went into overtime. The last map was at Coastline where Team Empire taking the map with ease. The final score was 3-1 with Team Empire redeeming themselves from their Six Invitational loss from G2 Esports.

All sixteen teams who participated received prize money from a $500,000 prize pool depending on where the placed. Here is the full the final placement of all the teams after the Grand Finals:

The teams that placed 13-16 received $5,000; 9th-12th place teams received $10,000; 5th-8th teams received $20,000. The semifinalists, forZe and Team Secret, may not have won but they each received $40,000 for being in the top 4. G2 Esports may not have repeated the results from the Six Invitational in Montreal, they were able to get $80,000 in prize money. Last, but certainly not least, Team Empire not only got a whopping $200,000, but also the slick trophy and the title of Major Champions.
