In a recent interview with DualShockers, The Game Bakers Founder and Creative Director Emeric Thoa revealed that he and his team would love to bring its most recent release, Furi, to the Nintendo Switch.

For those that don’t know: Furi is a hack and slash meets bullet-hell, boss-rush mode game that first released back on July 5, 2016 via the PS4 and PC. It then made its way to Xbox One at the end of the same year, on December 2nd.

Since its release the game has also been added to via the One More Fight DLCwhich injected a brand-new bossfight. Also since Furi hit PS4, Xbox One, and PC, a little thing called the Nintendo Switch -- Nintendo's new hybrid console  -- has released.

As you know, more and more independent games have found themselves subject to a Nintendo Switch port. And so I thought to myself a few weeks ago while playing through Furi again, "Man, it sure would be nice to play this on-the-go." I figured that a PlayStation Vita port was out of the question, but maybe a Nintendo Switch version could perhaps satisfy my wish, as well as bring a new option of play to the game's maintained hardcore following who like to continually punish themselves with the difficult title.

Thus, when I spoke to The Game Bakers' Emeric Thoa, I asked him if there is any consideration of bringing the game to the Nintendo Switch. Thoa responded on the team's behalf saying "we would love (emphasis on love) to make that happen," however, with the pace of Furi's gameplay, they "would need to secure a good enough framerate first." Thoa didn't disclose whether or not he thought getting the game's 60 FPS to run on Nintendo Switch would be a difficult task.

Whether Furi will come to Nintendo Switch is anyone's best guess, but at the very least any fans hoping for such a port should be encouraged by Thoa and the team's apparent desire to make it happen.

Furi is available on PS4, PC, and Xbox One for $19.99 USD. Meanwhile, the game's excellent award-winning electro/synth-wave soundtrack is available on both vinyl and on CD.

Be sure to be on the lookout for our full interview with Thoa later this week where we discuss a variety of things pertaining to Furi and The Game Bakers.
