Game Developer Hints at New Features for Companions Headed to Star Wars: The Old Republic

on July 9, 2012 4:30 PM

On the official BioWare forums today for Star Wars: The Old Republic, a game developer from the BioWare Austin studio answered a thread of comments in regards to the armor for companion characters.

Username: MattBoudreaux acknowledged a common complaint for the game which is that companion gear cannot be modified or customized in the same way as the players. You cannot hide helmets or change the color scheme to match up with the chest piece, leaving most companion’s faces either hidden away (even during most cutscenes) and/or their outfits to be especially mismatched unless you go out of your way to uniform their equipment. In response, the developer answered:

The ability to hide companion helmets will come in with companion match to chest. This is something I’ve worked on and you’ll be seeing it before too long! Enjoy 🙂

Hopefully, this will be implemented soon, along with other updates for game that will allow customization for more variety in the galaxy.
