Super Smash Bros may have started out on the Nintendo 64 but it gained it gained the notoriety it currently holds on the GameCube. Many still believe that the original GameCube controller is the best controller to play the game with. Peripheral manufacturer PDP seems to have heard these folks as they will be releasing fight pads that are inspired by the GC controller.

This controller will be wired and must be plugged into the extension port of the Wii remote in order for it to work. The controller will work with all games that are compatible with the Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro and will work with some Virtual Console titles as well. Several controllers will be released and they will be themed around different characters.

There is no official image of the controller at this point but when one is released we’ll keep you posted. Expect this to be available during the holiday season for $24.99 around the time that the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. is released.
