Metal Gear Online was released with Metal Gear Solid 4 back on June 12, 2008. As of today, June 12th 2012, the servers have been taken down for good after four years of military service.

Fans of the game have taken to Twitter to give their thanks and appreciation for the game. It may have been a rocky road at times for Metal Gear Online but the fans that stuck with it found the game to be a great enjoyment with each new addition. The game featured all the usual multiplayer modes but had the Metal Gear Solid features of stealth and CQC combat.

If you were a fan of Metal Gear Online, you can share your appreciation for the game on Twitter to @Kojima_Pro_Live or post with the #MGO tag.
